Buying New Smartphone

I am about to buy a brand new customized moto x from motorola.com. This is my smartphone and I am planning on using T-mobile. I know that different carriers have different requirements. So I was wondering if a brand new moto x would work perfectly fine with T-mobile network? How does that all work?
