Buying the right power amplifier

Hi all, iv purchesd a pair of yamaha s215v floor standing speakers and was woundering what amp would suite them best , im gping to be playing it loud for quite a few hours ( rave) and was looking at the gemini series xga 5000 ? Sorry but im a tital newbie to sound systems , thanks

The Gemini amp should work fine. It can put out 550x2 into 4 ohms and the speakers are designed for 500x2 into 4 ohms.
The program and peak ratings for the speaker is much higher but that isn't as meaningful in choosing an amp.
I would suggest you use at least 12ga speaker wire. The heavier wire will give you more damping of the woofers so you will get better quality of bass. This is more important if the speaker runs are long.
The speakers spec should spell out what amp it needs. Would say something like "driven by amplifier 20-200 watts, 8 ohms." Since you are going to play it loud, go to the top end of that spec, so 200 watts, and any amplifier can do 8 ohms, but if the spec says 4 ohms, then amp too, needs to be able to drive 4 ohms.

Is a simple matter of matching the specs of both pieces. Amp can have more power than speakers need but no less.
