Looking to stick one of these in my M6700 Precision Mobile Workstation.

I'm not afraid to operate. The Precision has a surprisingly fair amount of open space inside: not including the bays. Sound is first, so if I must sacrifice a HDD slot or the expansion bay to fit the sound card, I will.

Workstation Considerations:

  • Open/Extra mPCI-Express
    USB 3.0, Firewire, Express Card
    HDD and Expansion Bay (Slim)
Use of Riser Cable to Position Card.
Background:

I am a Developer - Gamer - FruityLoop : In that order.
I'm currently running a stripped Audigy 2 ZS Notebook via Expresscard -> PCIMCIA Cardbus adapter w/ Daniel Kawakami drivers.

It's all fitted internally. It's great but the setup takes up a bit of space in my case and I'm looking for a more compact solution.

Solution
So you want to connect a new audio chip to your laptop motherboard. Not going to happen, unless you happen to work in a fab that builds motherboards can use a production line to add it. What you linked is not a sound card but a audio processor chip.
