Cam shwoing dark black screen

during cam chat suddenly my cam showing dark black screen.not visible any thing.its cam option in dell laptop to show dark black screen to other,s or camera fault.please give answer urgent.

It sounds like the sensor died to me. If theres an option to show a dark screen it would be in your cam software not part of the hardware; that would only be on or off.

i have cheeked in detail no option available in cam software to show screen dark black to other,s during video call.
