Camera or phone?

Hey guys , i have a belt exam this saturday and my father is going to film it.. so my question is: i have two options- one is a sony minidv handycam(http/www.sony.bg/product/sdh-minidv/dcr-hc42e#/Overview) and the other one is a Samsung Galaxy S2. So which one is better?

I would say the miniDV since it would be able to adapt to different exposure levels better than any camera phone. Yes the Galaxy might have HD recording, but overall, the quality of the picture, at least i think, would be better on a dedicated camera over a smartphone.
