can a single loyalty point card be made such that it can be redeemed at multiple brands ?

I wish to have a reward point program for my company. For this, I wish to provide all my employees with a graphics card wherein points can be collected and redeemed at all the brands' stores with whom my company has a tie-up. Is it possible to have such a card? Can the existing card readers at these stores read this card also along with the loyalty cards tat they provide to their customers or will I have to provide the stores with different card readers ?

The major problem you will face in setting up something similar will be getting the individual retailers to sign on with your program, and then there will be a delay while they update their POS systems to report to your servers.
