I have a 2-3 yr old sony wega 27" set with component inputs, i have Cox digital
cable now, if i added a HD convertor and hooked it in my component input would
it convert it and play correctly?
HDTV would look alot better than what i ahve now and its only $10 a month more
for 8 HD channels
I think the wega is like 480p?
Thanks Chris

Read your docs. Without the exact model, it will probably be hard for
anyone here to guess whether your 4:3 Sony TV can accept HD signals.

Analog sets cannot handle HD without a down-scaler somewhere in-line.
Interlaced 425-line signals are the only thing that set knows how to deal with.
Make better use of your component inputs by connecting a DVD player. You won't
be able to run the unit in Progressive, but you will get a better picture,
primarily where the color is concerned, from the DVD player.

Thanks guys, i already have 3 dvd players and a yamaha surround receiver hooked
in, the set has a nice picture for what it is, just thought a motorola hd
receiver would down scale it enough to show without distortion, i guess its the
same thing as when i hit the progressive scan on my dvd player.
Time will come soon when the price is well under a G for a decent size screen.
