Solved! Can anyone help diagnose issue with projector

I have a Sony vpl-cx275, it works fine but has purple tracers that follow movment

What is the projector connected to? What type of cable are you using to connect the two devices? Have you tried alternate cables and ensuring connectors are tightly fastened?

I have connected it to two different blu-ray players and a computer. I've connected it 3 different hdmi cords and rca jacks

Does the projector display properly with any device attached to it? I would stay away from the RCA connections, for best quality, by the way.

It only has a Sony start up screen, it looks fine when that is on but there is no movement to really tell. I only used the rca jacks to see if it would be the same... and it was

Sounds like the old projector is the issue. Have you tried different display resolutions on the projector to see if that makes any difference.

Yeah I've went through all the settings. I guess it's time to upgrade. I was just hoping maybe it was something simple
