If you mean in the case of a problem that makes the system unworkable or corrupts the OS, or if you added a different drive, then yes, you can make a system image. If the new install would be due to the installation of an SSD though, I would recommend just doing a complete Reset.

And you can do a factory reset using the following method, if the factory restore partition is still present on your hard drive:
