Can I connect laptop (vga no hdmi) to an older surround

Can any of your lovely people help
I have a crappy laptop that we run the TV from via vga. I have been gifted an old JVC TH-M303 surround sound/dvd system. I am normally quite good at figuring this stuff out but I cannot work out if its possible to connect them. My tv is a generic Goodmans if this helps.

I am sure your craptop has an audio out for connecting headphones/speaker. Use something like a cable to convert 3.5" audio jack to RCA

Assuming your player has those standart audio port (red/yellow/white)
