Can i get a virus on my computer connecting my phone or tablet through my home wifi?

I have a router attached to my desktop and connect my laptop and cell via wifi. I have been told that using my home wifi on my phone, tablet or other devices will open me up for viruses as well as hackers. Would like to know if this is true and how to protect against threats through my devices connected to wifi/home computers.

It's not anything specific to WiFi. It's more a matter of where you go and what you download.

Well pretty much everyone i know has a home wifi network including myself. I think your being a bit paranoid as long as you are aware of the sites you are visiting and what you are downloading you will be fine.

No, you wont get virus through wifi, just beware of sites on which you visit, the stuff that you download and other devices that you connect through USB.
