Question Can i use 1 set of 3.5mm computer speakers for dual monitors (one xbox and other pc)

Can i use a 3.5mm y split audio cord (2 male and 1 female) and plug the male ends into the audio out 3.5mm jacks on the monitors and plug my speakers into the female end of 3.5mm y split audio cord? Would that play both monitors through the computer speakers? I havent tried it yet, just trying to figure out how im gonna do it. I want to hear both monitors through a single set of speakers. I have my Xbox One set up on one monitor and my pc is hooked up to the other.
