Solved! Can I use an optical out to 3.5 for my bluetooth transmitter?

I had my Bluetooth transmitter connected to my old tv using the rca audio out. My new tv just has optical out and 3.5 mini plug. The mini plug works but I have to un plug it to go back to using tv speakers. I got an optical out to 3.5 plug adapter but I get no sound.

You need a digital to analog converted (DAC).
Use your TV Optical Audio Out connected to the converter, then connect the Bluetooth transmitter to the converter as you had it on yor old TV (RCA)

Or get a BT transmitter with optical input.
