Can overheat kill/shorten a life span of a laptop?

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and when I play certain games the pc starts to get really hot ( I know I should have bought/built my own pc). Will it at some point kill the pc and will it do any damage to it?

what temps are you getting?

it feels hot isnt that specific, mine goes around 80C and it is quite normal. Unless you are getting around 100C it wont matter that much. anyway most pcs throttle down to reduce temps which can damage them
