I like playing games like minecraft, Titanfall, emulators for n64 and gamecube, Fallout 4 (when it comes out), most valve source engine games, Skyrim, sci-fi rpgs such as Mass Effect and on a side note, I'm also into video editing and game development with programs like rpg maker vx ace.
you should get a 3gb gpu if you want to handle next gen games, i suggest an r928 gpu or r9280x which are around the same price but are a bit better in some ways. honestly this is just an idea caus im no professional . considering you are a vidio editor you might want to consider the AMD FX-8350 4.0Ghz 8-Core as it has more cores and is a little cheaper, but then again you should wait to see what other people say. its not realy worth adding more ram (maybe 4gb) but instead upgrading teh frequency depending weather its f3 12800 or not (what ram will you choose?)
edit: i didnt read the title properly. so you could downgrade the cpu, upgrade the gpu, save more money and it would still be a bit of an overkill for gaming with a 720p monitor if you are aiming for 30fps as you could reach 50+ easy by changing some of the parts around
Well I'm getting the cpu for 160 dollars by picking it up at micro center and I said that I wouldn't mind playing in 720p, I'm playing on a 1080p monitor. So the whole thing (besides the monitor, my dad will pay for that) will cost about 700 dollars.
