can use only wifi on blu ray for tv for Netflix or does your TV have to be a smart tv

I just bought a 49 inch flat screen that does not have WiFi if I get a blueray that is WiFi can I just use that for my Netflix for it or do I need a smart tv

Yes, many blu-ray players can play Netflix (both of mine do) so you don't have to have a "smart TV" to play Netflix/Hulu/etc.
