That's all to do with personal preference. They are both fine phones.
Personally, I'd get an iPhone
- Immediate OS updates and security patches
- Apple is known to support iOS devices with new OS updates for four to five years after initial release
- Easy to backup all settings via iCloud or iTunes and restore to a new device
- iCloud syncing between iOS devices
- Apple's privacy policy vs Google's
There are downsides
- Less customizable
- Can't install different OS build if you wanted (like LineageOS)
- Can't change many default apps
- Siri isn't as capable as Android options
