to say that the projector is CRT.. it is hard to believe there is anything on the electron gun that would move.
but
maybe the gases inside the tubes are not to be layed backwards, because if the gas touches the electron gun, it might get stuck there.

seems a bit bizarre, or perhaps cheap, but i wouldnt say either one are impossible.
if a trick was to lay the crt projector a different way to improve the quality of the picture.. it could also be said that tipping the crt projector would also have the ability to cause harm.

like a cup of sugar water.. if you let it sit there, the sugar falls to the bottom.
and if there was a rim on the edge of the glass that was attracted to sugar.. putting a lid on the glass and turning it upside down...

it could be a thing of substance, like metal soaking up sugar, or it could be static related.
