Need more information regarding the Acer laptop...they have a wide range of models. On the chance its a base model (http/store.acer.com/store/aceramer/en_US/pd/ThemeID.35703000/productID.306192900/parentCategoryID.66201700), I'd think you could play the SIMS on it's lowest settings.
