Can you use a laptop for PS3 screen without damaging the PS3 or the laptop?

My laptop has an HDMI input/output. I'm currently in college and don't have a separate monitor or a TV. If I use my laptop as a screen for the PS3, will it damage the PS3 or the laptop?

Your laptops HDMI port is a Output, not an Input. You will not get a display from the PS3.
