Cannot change the boot order in setup

Hello to all, my problem is the next:
My friend put a password to get in the setup, but how usually happend....he forgot the password.
Then i reset the CMOS and now i can get in the setup but i can't change anything, except for the clock, and all tha i need to change is the boot order.
And I've already try practically everything!!!
Someone have already the same problem? Or know how to fix this?



Please help I need to solve this urgently!!!!!!!

Tom's does not help with password problems as per forum rules. Go to the manufacturer of the laptop and prove you are the owner in order to get help

It not about the password anymore, the cmos been reset. What the model of your acer?

I found a way to solve my problem:

I downloaded and installed the updated BIOS with the help of mini windows xp that comes with the "hiren's boot cd 10.4" and now i can access everything inside the Setup again. Thank you for you help

Ow, just one more thing, to i can make the boot by the CD, i needed to get out the HDD, because this way the notebook makes the boot by CD!!!
