Cannot get my power shot s1 si to go on

Hello,
I put new batteries in my Power Shot S1 IS, my camera will not go on, when the batteries died, the lens was out, cannot close, help, camera was saying it could not read my card, could the card be the problem?

Try removing the card.

I think if you Google the camera model name and the work "problem" or "lens stuck" you'll find others with the same problem with Canons -- and perhaps a solution.

The one I recall said remove the batteries and slam the camera into you open palm with enough force to shake it but not break it.
