Cannot reattach screen of Asus K53U-RBR5

I recently upgraded to a new laptop and have decided to sell my old one, an Asus K53U-RBR5. The bottom casing was cracked so I bought a replacement and while I was able to reconnect the motherboard and the video card, I can't get the screen itself to come back on.The hinges will not fit back into the case. I checked the old casing to see if something was missing from the new one, and there isn't. Is there some guide or help for this? My searches have only lead to how to replace the LCD screen itself.

Perhaps the case you bought was not actually for the correct model? It happens.

Possible, although they look exactly the same. It seems like the hinges don't have any way to be secured.

That seems rather odd. I mean they would need to be secured for it to function correctly.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I saved every screw I removed in a plastic bag, so I have all of them, but none of them fit with the hinges. That's why I was hoping to find a video or something that would show me what I'm missing.

I watched both trying to replace the case. They don't have anything helpful.

Darn. Alas, I couldn't find any exact images on that model.


Again... Anyone else have any suggestions?
