Cannot uninstal HP F4185

Hi - I have an HP F4185 printer scanner.
It prints fine from the computer but I cannot scan with the HP software. I was going to uninstall and put it all on again but I cannot uninstall the printer in the usual way - add and remove programs etc. I have also tried using the CD but nothing is helping. I would appreciate some help in this thanks
