canon 20d battery door switch location

Canon 20d battery door switch has broken. I'm an electronics engineer and want to fix this problem by simply shorting the switch. Can any canon engineers guide me to the right board and the removal order required. I do have the service manual but it's not clear where the plastic push rod that connects the battery door and the switch pushes.

It's definitely not recommended, since it might not be the switch that's actually broken.

You should be able to find a "switch" under the hinge.
