Canon Memory Card Error

Have seen some older posts about the Canon memory card error. I just want to know what was done to fix the problem. My SX20 IS is doing the same and it's not the card.

have you done the basics?

Reset camera to factory settings
Format memory card with the camera
Download drivers and firmware updates.
