Cant connect the PC with my Smart TV

I have a Smart TV from LG and a normal assembled CPU. I want to install a Digital Display software (XIBO Client Software) in my CPU and broadcast it through the TV (I want the TV to act as the monitor). The TV has got 3 HDMI ports (No VGA ports) amongst which port number 2 is especially for PC according to the user manual. The CPU has a VGA port (No HDMI port). I have got a VGA to VGA cable and a VGA to HDMI connector. Using those two, I made the physical connection between the TV and the computer. On starting the TV & the computer and setting up the input of TV to HDMI, the "No Signal" message is displayed in the TV. Both the VGA-VGA cable and VGA-HDMI connector are working fine. I have tested them independently in different environments.
I cannot understand why the signal is not received by the TV? Why cant I use my TV as the monitor of the PC?

You would need a converter to go from VGA to HDMI not a cable.

This one will also put the audio on the HDMI cable so the sound will come from the TV speakers not the PC speakers.
