Can't connect to wifi on laptop

I have an HP laptop, about 3 years old, and won't connect to wifi. I've tried following other threads on here and tried those solutions, but none have worked. My laptop will only work on an Ethernet cord.

All I see is Wifi Adapters. Upon clicking it it says this-
"Device Status-

have to re-install the driver of the wifi card. what is the make & model# of the hp laptop?

It says that the driver software is up to date.

not update it through device manager but going to the manufacturer's website and downloading it manually, then installing it?

I'm trying to locate model number. It does not have a serial or product number printed on it or inside the battery. It's also 3 years old and I don't have the box anymore. Anyway I could look it up on the computer?

keyboard area, bottom right corner of screen bezel as might say "G60" or bottom of laptop. also check in the bios as might say it there.
