I would like a high-end gaming laptop for the price of around $1300. I have narrowed my search down to the following two laptops:

MSI GE70 Apache Pro-012 ($1299)
http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GE70-Apache-Pro-012-17-3-Inch/dp/B00IMTQ5I2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403806634&sr=8-1&keywords=msi+apache+pro

GIGABYTE P27Gv2-CF1 ($1299)
http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Notebook-P27GV2-CF1-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00KE0T2Q4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403806664&sr=8-1&keywords=GIGABYTE+P27Gv2-CF1

The product details on Amazon for the GIGABYTE laptop are incorrect for some reason. This link has the correct information:

What do you think is the best laptop and why?

I've heard the MSI Apache Pro series has 1.5 hour shorter battery life while idle, and gets a fair bit hotter and has worse workmanship.
The Gigabyte is slightly thicker whilst surpassing the Apache in the above categories.

If its only between those two, then the MSI one would be better. You won't get very good battery power in gaming laptops in general, just because it takes a lot to power them. Same goes with cooling, gaming laptops generally always get hot, even with good cooling system.
