Can't find my gpu on my brand new laptop

So i just bought the Lenovo Z50-70 and it should have a nvidia geforce 840m graphics card but i can't see it anywhere it says i only have intel hd graphics.

i also can't install nvidia drivers when i try to it says that i do not have the required hardware

please help me solve this.

well to start with if you do have a nvidia graphics card, most laptops will only use that gpu when you use intensive programs like games, maybe try a program like novabench to see the score it gets and it should tell you which gpu it uses and also use a program called gpu-z to view which gpu you have

Are you sure you weren't given the incorrect version of the Z50-70? What is the exact model number on the box, and how much did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking?
