Can't get 2 finger and 3 finger working on touchpad Acer E1-470G

This is driving me insane.

I've spent 4 hours on this problem with no solution. The drivers available for this notebook are Synaptics, Alps, Elan. On the disc, on the official Acer website, on external websites as well, so I'm not even sure which one it is.

UPDATE: I've looked at the hardware ID, and it seems to be Elan ETD0509.. But it appears the drivers for this are specifically for Windows 8. I've tried some other drivers, which add the Elan tab in mouse section, but the device list in the Elan tab is empty and there's no settings for the pad.

Does anyone have any ideas. I've scowered the net with no solution. Just some old threads from 2009 that didn't help much.

It's driving me insane not being able to scroll. If I can get this solved, I'll be wow happy beyond belief.

Am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

If drivers are for Win8 there's not much you can do.
