I have cable box and PS3 connections going to receiver via hdmi and 1 hdmi cord going to TV. I can hear audio from cable box and PS3 through home speakers but cannot get any sound from TV speaker. What am I doing wrong?
The receiver is not sending the audio through to the TV since it assumes you are using the HT speakers instead. You may be able to set the receive to pass through the audio in one of the receiver menus.
It could be as simple as going into your tv's audio settings and enabling audio output from your tv. That's how my tv is, but I don't use the tv speakers though. Don't like how it sounds mixed with the ht speakers.
I agree with the post above, why would you want to mix what is in theory higher quality audio from the reciever speakers with the speakers on the TV? It's acting normally by the way, you are using the external speakers, so the TV does not get the audio signal.
It would be like buying high quality beef then grinding it up and mixing it with cheap stuff.
