Cap lock on dell inspiron 1545

How find out if there caps lock is on before they start typing. I don't like it when i have to do this to see if i am in cap lock????

Did you used to get Caps Lock / Num Lock info on your computer screen - but now you dont?

What's going on? Did you make any changes to your laptop?

Did you uninstall the Quickset application? Usually that shows a popup icon whenever you switch on/off your Caps Lock key..

Also, I was actually annoyed by that feature so I did some registry changes. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Dell Computer Corp>Quickset, I changed the 'Value data' of QuickSetControl(REG_DWORD) from 4 to 1... Now I don't get that annoying popups anymore...

So, if you can try doing the reverse.. it might probably work...

I've also see little utility programs that will sit on the taskbar and give you the same type of information. Caps Lock, Num Lock, etc.
