Car stereo popping

Why is my 14 month stereo suddenly started to make this very loud popping sound, only. No other sound can be heard. It also activated my air bag trouble light.

Your airbag light is completely unrelated and has nothing to do with the stereo.
The stereo is wired poorly or incorrectly OR the stereo is defective.

I have since I posted this question went to the shop that installed the stereo and speakers. They went all through it and found the problem. One of the back speakers magnet is so large that it was pinching the input wire and grounding out. He cut the hole out some and it has seemed to solve the problem. Also, the Air Bag light has went out. It seems that it did have something to do with it. ???
