Cd Drive issues

The optical disk drive in my laptop will not eject, read cds at all! For the longest while I noticed it was giving issues. Made a loud enough noise when a cd was in there. Normally when I turn my laptop on I hear a sound from the optical drive which means it's working. Now no sound/won't eject etc. Is there a way to fix this or should I just buy a new laptop (instead of a new optical drive because the laptop is terrible anyways, had it for three years going four, poor quality)

some laptop cd rom will pop out with button or one or two screws. most of them are under 20.00 to replace. if you can give us your laptop model we can see if there a cd rom spare part for it.
