CD player for music system

I currently use a CD jukebox to play my cd's through my amplifier. I would like to use a less mechanical way to play them. I know I can buy an mp3 player and copy my cd's to it but they are a little difficult to navigate for my wife. What could I use as an alternative? Build a cheap pc and install some music management software? Other alternative?

get an cheap pc, that will do much more than playing music..

Rip the CDs to a USB drive (for quality save as Flac files). Connect the drive to a Western Digital TV media box (about $100). This will give you a remote and on screen display. It will also hold pictures and videos.
