While I understand the sloping back part of the bodywork is to reduce drag and increase the mileage - whet a lot of potential buyers are looking for in an electric vehicle to run about town is kids, pets and shopping carrying capacity -
So that means a 5 door - almost, or actually 'estate' body - good headroom for the 6' teens in the back and a flat rear load area for bags, shopping, luggage and maybe the portable barbeque - preferably without the inherent instability of some of the narrow bodies 'city vehicles'

One reason I have not yet got an electric vehicle is that early designs were sports -car body designs with almost enough room for a 4 year- old in the back and a 0-60 of over 14 seconds.
If I'm going to accept the constraints of staying near a charging point - that (currently) means a city vehicle - so decent 0-50 acceleration, carrying capacity, and all-round view of adjacent vehicles.
