Hi, i am an architecture student and a potential heavy gamer. My urrent computer is a very generic one, so i cant handle the programs i use at the speed i need.

1. What is your budget?
4k
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
17-19 in
3. What screen resolution do you want?
As much as i can get

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
I would like your opinion on this one.
I know that if i invest money on a desktop it will generaly be more porwerful. But i am wondering if a powerful laptop is useful in my case.

5. How much battery life do you need?
LOTS
If it is a laptop i need a lot of juice in it

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Skyrim
But i also use photoshop, autocad, revit, 3dmax
Very heavy graphics oriented programs

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

See above

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
500gb

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

Forever 😵
But i will use it untill the workload makes the specs feel weak.

And if it is a desktop, i would like it to be custom, so that i can change the components as time progresses...

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Dvd rom/writer

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

13. What country do you live in?
US

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

If its a laptop, please as portable as posible.
Otherwise there is no diference between that and a workstation.

So i know i need a monster of a video card, LOTS of ram (16), procesing power and awesome resolution.
And if it were posible, no predetermined stupid programs. Those that most computers come with... Like demos and stuff that u never really use.

I think you need to clarify if you need a laptop or a desktop PC. Is portability important to you, in particular away from a power outlet? You have some pretty hefty requirements, which are not consistent with long battery life. You could build a desktop PC to meet your needs for likely no more than $1000 + monitor, but a laptop to do so, and have even an hour or two of battery life, I suspect would be at least twice that.

I would suggest building a nice desktop for that price
.
You can go with a micro atx motherboard with a "portable" design that will pack a big punch

If i was you i would buy my own parts and build on yourslef beacuse that way you could put as much as you want into it, and you would generally get a better spec of computer aswell. a laptop would be useful but for gaming and high performance i would go for a desktop machine.

Alvine went where I was headed; if you need portability NEAR an electrical outlet, there are a lot of excellent microATX (and even miniITX) cases that would let you build a killer portable system.
