Hello guys,

I have narrowed down my choice of a laptop to these 3:

a) HP Pavilion G6 Series G6-1000TU (http://www.flipkart.com/computers/laptops/hp/itmczcrzvfwgej8g?pid=comcy5qcdc4hkhmu&_l=r7xvl96ZnLAqvSyjFizOxg--&_r=GKittvczE1pvz3sVObjfOA--&ref=4349e671-8c3e-422a-a8bc-607345149ea3)

b) Sony VAIO E Series VPCEH15EN (http://www.flipkart.com/computers/laptops/sony/itmczx2tyfa4yugu?pid=comczx2yktnkxfyj&_l=hOePx0C5oVC88fU99zPTEg--&_r=dwW_6ijA1Mw3ubvPpVn09A--&ref=bc45a4ef-1915-4c69-a3bb-394e9df52197#read-reviews)

I have heard HP Pavilion dv series had bad heating problems. I do not know if the new G series are good or they suffer the same.

The first gen core i5 480 in HP should be better than 2nd gen core i3 i suppose. Certainly HP has a better configuration overall (1 GB RAM more and 180 gb more hard disk space).

Still some say that sony has better quality products.

Please answer my query focusing on the mentioned issues (specially the over heating problem and general product quality).

Thanks,

I see quite a few HPs for sale in the used market, not as many Sony's. This usually means people are trying to pass on a computer with issues to some sucker. You should check out Lenovo as well. From what I have seen with HP, they are not the most reliable laptop brand.
