my ASUS Chromebook wont power on at all is it because the mother board is dead??????

Yes a dead motherboard would cause that. Replacements are pretty cheap though, I bought one for the one my daughter had for maybe $40 or 50. Was it fully charged and it won't turn on? Try turning it on after you unplug the battery on wall power only.
