I am currently having issues running an 720p Epson 7900 off of a 1080p coboc 3x hdmi input and 1x hdmi output with audio separator switch that is 4k capable. The way it is setup is as follows: Chromecast into input 1 and a 25ft hdmi cable on the output to a dvi adapter to convert the hdmi cable. The audio works perfectly into my older Sony receiver without video capabilities but the video fails to project on the dvi input of the projector. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. Also on another note, I have tried other variations with a TV and the switch does work and I've hooked up the hdmi cable to laptop and it works fine as well thru dvi adapter.

Solution
Possibly the Projector doesn't support the HDCP the chromecast needs then. The adapter shouldn't do anything but switch the pins. HDMI and DVI video are interchangable, there is no "conversion" just mapping pins of the DVI to the HDMI, so I would say the projector doesn't support HDCP and the chromecast won't display anything without that.

You could buy a cheap HDCP stripper.

Well what happens if you plug the chromecast directly into the projector with the DVI-HDMI adapter. Does it work. Then try into the switch without the audio separator. Does it work. You can easily find out what part is causing the issue with a bit logical deduction and process of elimination.

I did try that as well and it doesn't work either. I did however do a factory reset on the chromecast while plugged directly into the projector and was able to see the spinning chrome icon when it rebooted and then it went blank again. Very puzzled. I've tried numerous configurations with equipment. Everything works it's just this one bug/hiccup of the chromecast thru dvi/hdmi adapter on the projector. Also when I refer to it being blank it's a very dark blue verses the default bright blue screen on the projectors default no source.
