Hello,
will this work on windows XP. Do I need the installation disc or drivers downloaded

Googling it suggests there's a problem with this product being sold cheap without a required driver disk.

You could spend many happy hours searching but, personally, if it doesn't fire up via Control Panel's Scanner's and Cameras icon when plugged in, I'd file it in the usual receptacle for Chinese novelty products and go buy a real camera.
