Clovertrail platform question

I am looking for a new tablet but I have a relatively low budget. I want windows 8 (NOT RT) . I found the Lenovo lynx 64 gig version for $370 ish on amazon. I just need it to run office mostly. I know the atom is seriously limited, but that's all I need. Is this a good choice? Also I'm not as familiar with the clovertrail tech. I heard its better than the original atom tech, but I haven't looked up any performance figures. Also, I was wondering if there was any new budget x86 platform on the horizon which would make it worth while to wait? Also if anyone has personal experiences with the lynx would be appreciated. Thanks for any insight.

There are office-compatible apps that will run on less expensive platforms. But if the budget is a serious constraint, look into office-compatible software for the Android platform
