Combo jack headphone to single port on desktop

Hello! I have a pair of Vmoda LP headphones and I want to wire them to my computer, but the cable is a combo cable (mic and audio in one cable) And my desktop has 2 ports in front ( mic and audio) is there any way I could wire one of those ports to both support audio and mic? Maybe in the BIOS or just have to install a hardware driver? I know that you can order a y splitter online for this but I just want to see if there is another way to do it without purchasing anything.

You can't do that without hardware just because your existing jacks are three-pin only, and you need to connect all four wires
