Comparing Cad Workstations

I am working with Catia Solid modeling and graphic illustrations:

What screen on the Lenovo?

Does your program take advantage of Quad cores?

The Lenovo has the 17" WUXGA 400NIT TFT
I use Catia V5, UGnx5 and SolidWorks
I also use Nastran and Algore FEA modelers.

I am not sure; however, the web indicates some versions do and some do not. I will say they do based on a few blogs I was able to see. My desk top although slow is quad core and they run on it.

Also curious if Solid State technologies has developed enoung to be reliable for me. This may answer the whole question.

I would get the quad core notebook, then.

SSD technology is very reliable, and is a good investment if you've the cash. Still, conventional hard disks are very good, decently fast, and quite reliable. In your case, I would be more worried about processing power than hard disks - but making those massive file loads shorter is nice.
