Hey ive been in the gaming pc area for a while regarding towers, and now looking to get a laptop that has gaming capabilities not looking to max out new titles but would like decent a FPS. My biggest ask is that i want the best screen possible for my budget.

Ideal laptop:

  • ■ 1080p screen at least but would love higher resolutions.
    ■ 17.3 inch screen
    ■ Gaming Specs
    ■ Dont care about weight
    ■ Not fussy over battery life as well
    ■ Max budget is £1000, would prefer under £900

I have done some of my own research but dont know anything about laptops. So far Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition VN7-791G is one ive been looking at, but have been told its over priced for the specs and i could get a better 'bang for my buck'.

Keep in mind that just about every brand you are familiar with doesn't actually make a single laptop.... which makes comparing brand offerings a rather futile effort as if you are comparing to of them, chances are they will differ by little more than the logo sticker and may have even been made on the same production line.

The vast majority of laptops on the market are manufactured by a small handful of Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), although their production bases are located mostly in mainland China.

Major relationships include:

Quanta sells to (among others) HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Fujitsu and NEC
Compal sells to (among others) Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo and HP/Compaq
Wistron...

Just so you know, don't have to pay anywhere near £1000 for a good gaming laptop. You can probably run most AAA titles (Shadow of Mordor, Modded Skyrim, etc) for £700.

However, if you're fixed on that budget and REALLY want a 17" laptop for your own reasons, I'd go with this one, you're saving £300 now too, I'd snap it up mate.

Just look for at least 8gb ram, around 2gb VRAM and at least 2.5GHz CPU, quad core of course and I have to stick to AMD.

Love the style of this one too, good luck mate, exciting times!

Leovo laptops are beast, and just for the record the world's obsession with FPS is stupid, frames aren't everything! As long as your frame rate is solid and at least 20, you cant really tell a difference.
