Thank you. I've had several recommendations for MacBooks and Sager notebooks. I settled on a customized Sager NP8171-S

The specific work you are going to do on the laptop should not be done on a laptop. You can split the $4000 in half, build a high end desktop and get a very powerful laptop as well. Having two separate computers would also help for testing your game builds on different machines. Along the lines of filming, get a laptop/monitor that has an IPS screen in it.

Yep, this is my plan. I'm salvaging parts from my old desktop whose mobo failed and buying a few new parts with my remaining budget.
