Compter is not picking up HDMI audio

Okay so basically my problem Is that my pc is saying that there is no audio peripheral plugged in, yet when I use my HDMI cable for my console it has perfect sound tried this with another TV and I get the same problem any idea what I need to do or download? the make of the TV is Samsung.

go into your task tray on bottom right of desktop
right click the audio icon
select playback devices
set hdmi audio as default
...
Audio!
