Hello, I am having a small issue. I have my computer hooked up to my 5.1 surround system through the optical cable. Anyways i have sound playing through all the speakers but the center channel. I do get sound in the center channel for system sounds however. I would like to have the center channel playing the normal sounds as well. Any ideas on how to fix this would be apriciated.

Its an on board sound card. It is the Realtek ALC889 on the Gigabyte GA-990FXAUD3 and i am using windows 7 x64 I am also using the Dolby editor that came with the motherboard tools. Oh and the reciever is a Sony DAV-HDX275 Any help is most apriciated
Thank you

right click desktop/personlize/sounds/playback tab/check realtek is your default device , highlight that then select configure,
is 5.1 audio channels selected and do you get sounds from all speakers with the test

Its listed as Realteck Digital Output (optical) and configure is greyed out and not seletable. When i do a test only
Two test sounds play and they are the front speakers.

I have the sound playing out of a home theater system my only options are the optical cable or using my tascam us-100 dac wich is a usb audio interface and has the red and white rca connections

No i didnt think about that ill have to try that out later. see if it helps. Thanks for the sugestion.
