Computer Headphones Audio Question

I am looking for a good pair of audio headphones.I currently have a Logitech G35 headset which the sound of these pairs is pretty weak. I never had any kind of headphones that was not USB powered. I currently looking at getting Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro

for gaming/music audio. However, I was told an amp is pretty important to have. Would I need an amp for these type of headphones in order to improve my overall music and gaming audio experience?

Honestly i'm close to grabbing those Senn HD600, but you will more than likely need an amp, something like the Schiit Magni would suffice, but it isn't the perfect combo, but i hear it's still a pretty good setup (Been looking ALOT). I'm eyeing up a Bottlehead Crack.
